South Texas wilderness and no bloggers in site, can make it difficult to get the word of progress out to the rest of the world!

Leave it to a Pirana to persevere. Brother Mav, did his deed, in spite of his pending illness in a time many of us would envy. Mav finished his 100K (63 miles) in a fine 14 hour and 4 minute effort.

Mav’s infamous battle with blisters was tamed this year by the use of an ever trusty roll of duct tape. (Inset pic is a sample of what can happen when he doesn’t tame the beast)

Mav’s post race text messages declared a few things, amongst them that the course was awesome but tough (and he knows a thing or two about a tough course), and that he expects the entire Pirana clan to show for the 2010 event!

Way to go Mav, John, Steve, and Henry (fellow OTRA members) and Ellen and Nancy, that toughed out the course. All OKC trail runners completed their respective races and head home with their own stories of the day!

Bandera…Smanshera

Brother Mav and a few other OKC trail runners made the trek to South Texas to particiapte in a regional fav, the Bandera Endurance Trail Run. The crew consists of Mav, Steve Tanio, John Marrujo, Nancy Shidler and Ellen Reeder. This group of seasoned vets are doing anywhere from 25K to 100K this chilly weekend.

Mav, as you might expect is gunning for the 100K. God forbid he do the short version of anything (including a conversation..but we digress.)

One minor issue arose for the little guy this week though. He was getting sick and a bit concerned about how it might affect his race. But you know him, the guy would drag a bloody stump behind, before he would stop!

We’ll check on him and post again!
