Ticking the miles off, Mav and Dennis approach the Claremore aid station at 86.5 miles. Looking great and not much more to get done.

T3 Down and Out

by admin on November 14, 2010

While t3’s beloved OSU Cowboys spanked Texas, 37-3, T3 was not so lucky in his undertaking. After having leg and Achilles problems for about 25 miles he was strongly encourage to stop by is friend, mentor and doctor, Dr. Tom Coniglione.

The cause of the concern was and is the achilles tendon

So T3 reluctantly packed it in and sent Mav and Dennis on their way. This was a very difficult decision for T3 but was the wise thing and in the end will be the best thing.

It still sucks!

Tatur, Foyil and 23 to go!

A few pics from the Pirana Bros stop at the TATUR’s aid station in Foyil.

A warm fire, tons a food, great company, and Weeble’s replacement.

The boys are doing well. Mav and T3 have been running with a new friend, Dennis. The three of them have become quite a team. Doing so well together we may never have to pace!!!

They are all doing extremely well. Their early willingness to eat seems to be paying some dividends.

Some pics from the Chelsea Inn. They saved a room to use for a nice warm, almost too inviting stop for the runners:

I longer stop at the halfway point. T3 and Mav are showing a surprising interest in food. A departure from their normal race intake levels. They are looking great and attitudes are good!!

Contrary to the post, here the boys look a little dazed at the midway point!

The Calm before the Storm

by admin on November 12, 2010

The boys are checked in and in the room for the night in Joplin watching the Thunder on TV.

After a delicious meal of Mazzio’s spaghetti, salad and bread, the boys closed down packet pick-up. Some final arrangements had to be made and the remaining goodie bags and stuff were placed in one of the team rooms until McLovin comes to get them. Then they loaded everybodies stuff into Big’s truck and headed out.

The Hampton Inn in Joplin is setting out breakfast an hour early for the runners that are staying here, so the boys will eat early, take care of necessary business, and then head to Baxter Springs to arrive by 7.

For now it is off to sleep….
